Day 02: Explore Thimphu (2,350m)
Spend the day discovering Bhutan's cultural and spiritual capital.
Visit Buddha Dordenma, one of the world's largest seated Buddha statues, offering spectacular views across the valley. Continue to the National Memorial Chorten, an important religious landmark frequented by local devotees.
Explore the Folk Heritage Museum, Sangaygang Viewpoint, Changangkha Lhakhang and the Takin Preserve Centre, home to Bhutan's unique national animal.

Leave Thimphu behind and journey towards the beautiful valley of Punakha via Dochula Pass (3,150m).
Pause at the pass to enjoy panoramic Himalayan views and the peaceful surroundings of the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens before continuing towards Punakha.

Begin your return journey towards Western Bhutan, retracing the scenic mountain route through Trongsa and Pele La Pass.

Continue your journey towards the beautiful valley of Paro.

Enjoy a scenic drive to Chele La Pass, the highest motorable road in Bhutan.
The route passes through beautiful forests of pine, spruce and rhododendron before opening to spectacular panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain ranges and pristine valleys below. On clear days, enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Jomolhari (7,326m), one of Bhutan's most sacred peaks, along with several surrounding Himalayan summits.
Spend time amidst fluttering prayer flags, crisp mountain air and the peaceful alpine surroundings before returning to Paro.
